Hi,
Can anybody please let me know if it is safe to replace the battery in a Smart-UPS 5000, without disconnecting the power?
Thanks,
Jeff

hi
yes, it is safe. the UPS has hot swappable batteries. of course, if you lose power in the time you have the batteries out, dont be surprised with the UPS and your equipment turn off 🙂
if the UPS is an older beige 5000 model, the UPS will not indicate that the batteries are disconnected. if it is a black 5000 model, the UPS will indicate the batteries are disconnected by flashing the replace battery LED at you.
