Anyone know how the internal temperature reading on a Smart UPS 3000 could be showing lower than the ambient air temperature? The internal temp is showing as 19.8 C (67 F) and the ambient temperature in the room is around 22 C (72 F).
We also have an external temperature probe connected and it is showing higher than the internal temp. We put some heat on the external probe and it seemed to register properly.
Thanks,E

Probe is attached to the side of the cabinet away from any exhaust of the fans. The behavior of the external probes appear accurate.
It is the internal temp which is puzzling? The majority of our installs at customer locations shows the internal temp which is higher than the external probe, which is what I would expect. We have several sites showing the opposite situation?

Rackmount model.
We are seeing at several different locations where the external probe temperature is higher than the internal temperature. ???? All are rackmount SmartUPS 3000 XL.
Thanks,E

where is the probe sitting? is it on top of the UPS or what? the internal temperature is the temperature of the internal components of the UPS so i wouldnt expect it to be the same as the room temperature.
