Tried to find this online and searching this forum. (3K plus results in forum search so I have to confess I didn't read them all.

Several online threads indicate APC support will provide this on the forum though. Do you need any additional info besides model #?

SMT  is just a case of (re-)inserting  new  batteries and saying yes when asked if they are new, this resets the calibration to default.

Thanx Gareth. Yes yes, I understand that. I just sort of got interested in the UPS internals after my "close call" (posted earlier) and I want to track this value over the life of the battery. It's simply curiosity. So I'm interested in comparing the reading the unit has with the new battery I just installed with the factory value. They should match, and since this UPS did get quite hot when the last battery went bad I want to insure the value is correct.

I'm sort of doing a lab experiment if you will. I'm assuming I will need to have an APC rep chime in with this figure.

On APC's older UPSes that speak UPSLink, you could access a battery constant used for estimating runtime. I don't think there's a way you can get anything similar from SMT (or any of the newer) UPSes.

What you can do, and at least one of our forum members does this, is plot battery voltage over time during a discharge. You can get this from a network management card either by polling the battery voltage or looking at the data log. As the battery ages, the discharge curve changes, and that's what runtime estimation tracks.
