I replaced battery, but still RED / GREEN led alternating colors

Hi,

I took this indicator to mean a weak battery. As such, I replaced the battery, but I get the same indication. Could it be bad contacts to the terminals or something else? Do I need to discard the UPS and return the replacement battery?
