I'm re-creating a post that I made a whileago to which I did not get the answer that I asked.

How do I update the battery count on a UPS system (Details follow)

APC Smart UPS RT5000
MOD: surt5000xli
S/N: NS630002043

take a look at FA156515 at http://www.apc.com/site/support/index.cfm/faq/

if the UPS came with a network management card, that will be the easiest way - log in and change it there.
