I have a ACRP101 unit that I have lost the apc password to. I was so excited to see in the documentation, steps to reset back to the default apc|apc... Unfortunately, following the steps I am not able to get the password reset. HT connects, I see the Username prompt, flick the power for a second and press return until i get a username prompt... trying apc | apc fails to login.
Anyone have an idea where I am going wrong in this password reset steps or have experienced this as well and recovered the default password.
Thanks!
Todd

Here are the steps from the Operations Manual for InRow RP DX
How to Recover From a Lost Password
You can use a local computer, a computer that connects to the Network Management Card or other
device through the serial port to access the control console.
1. Select a serial port at the local computer, and disable any service that uses that port.
2. Connect the APC modem cable (APC part number 940-0103) to the selected port on the computer and to the serial port at the InRow RP
(use the DB-9 connector on the front of the electrical panel).
3. Run a terminal program (such as HyperTerminal) and configure the selected port as follows:
– 9600 bps
– 8 data bits
– no parity
– 1 stop bit
– no flow control
4. Press ENTER on the computer, repeatedly if necessary, to display the User Name prompt.
If you are unable to display the User Name prompt, verify the following:
– The serial port is not in use by another application.
– The terminal settings are correct as specified in step 3.
– The correct cable is being used as specified in step 2.
5. Switch the main breaker to OFF. Wait one second. Switch the main breaker to ON.
Note: If you wait too long to return power to the Cooling Unit, you must repeat step 5.
6. Press ENTER as many times as necessary to redisplay the User Name prompt, then use the default,
apc, for the user name and password. (If you take longer than 30 seconds to log on after the User
Name prompt is redisplayed, you must repeat step 5 and log on again.)
7. From the Control Console menu, select System, then User Manager.
8. Select Administrator, and change the User Name and Password settings, both of which are
now defined as apc. Select Accept Changes to store the new user name and password values.
9. Press CTRL+C, log off, reconnect any serial cable you disconnected, restart any service you
disabled, reinstall the lower air filter, and replace the rear panel.

The one part they don't mention is that besides only accepting the default apc/apc password for 30 seconds after starting up, it also only happens every other time you reset the device. If you look at the LEDs on the ethernet port, during one startup they will flash orange/green and the next time you startup, they will be off. The apc/apc default only works when the ethernet LEDs are off during startup.

Thanks Voidstar!
This was the answer, you have to remove the cover on my model to see the ethernet connectivity lights but the second flick of the main breaker allowed the password to be reset.
APC...please update your documentation, this is too easy an issue to have jack with incomplete steps.
