How to change SRT192RMBP2 Battery Pack number
I have acquired a used SRT8KRMXLI (ID1014) with one SRT192RMBP2 battery pack.
After installing the units I can see that the battery pack is incorrectly detected as "Battery Pack 2" I have only one SRT192RMBP2 unit connected. The UPS should detect it as "Battery Pack 1" as it is the only one connected.
I guess it is probably because the previous owner had another copy of a SRT192RMBP2 battery pack connected to the UPS in the past (with a different S/N) and the UPS remembered that and it is reserving the "Battery Pack 1" "slot" for the previously connected SRT192RMBP2.
Please see the attached screenshot below.
I would like to make the installed SRT192RMBP2 battery pack as "Battery Pack 1".
What I have tried and didn't work:
- upgraded the UPS firmware to the latest UPS 15.2 (ID1014) firmware using serial connection with the battery pack disconnected
- upgraded the UPS firmware to the latest UPS 15.2 (ID1014) firmware using serial connection with the battery pack connected
- upgraded the built-in NMC2 firmware
- upgraded the add-on NMC2 firmware
Please help me setting my single battery pack as "Battery Pack 1" instead of "Battery Pack 2". Is there any way to tell the UPS to forget the previously installed BP (assuming that the problem is that it still remembers it)?

First thing is to remove the extra NMC. Disconnect the external battery pack from the main system.
Hard boot the system with both battery cartridges removed and AC Mains disconnected.
Wait about 10-15 seconds while pressing the power button. Restore AC Mains and power up the system without the battery cartridges installed.
Wait for the system to declare a battery fault and wait another 10-15 seconds. Login to the internal NMC and verify there is no external battery pack installed.
If no external battery pack is seen and detected reconnect (only) the main battery cartridge for the system. The system should prompt you to confirm if this is a new battery cartridge so toggle from No to Yes.
Enter the current month and year and hit save. Go back to the internal NMC and verify the new battery installation date is present.
If yes proceed to connect the external battery pack (without) the cartridges. Watch the front of the external battery pack LED. It should begin to flash and if there is a pending firmware update the main system will update the same.
If there is an error as it relates to a firmware error you must update the firmware again (with) the external battery pack attached.
Verify the external battery pack is seen and report back what it says. If it’s present insert a single battery cartridge into the unit and wait for the system to prompt you to enter the battery installation date.
Repeat the same for the second cartridge and hit save. Turn the output back on and wait for the system to complete the internal self test.
If no self test is done manually initiate the self test and wait for it to complete. Go back to the internal NMC.
What does the system indicate as the external battery pack?!?
