starting planning of a new layout for my DC/server rooms. I've been told that we have to bring in blade servers to support several new end-user apps and I need to cram more than a few in a limited space. What are the practical limits for cooling blades in a rack? # of blades/kW, any clue? Dell was not very helpful in this regard and my facility guy doesn't have any experience with more than what we have now. My hottest rack is about 3950 watts now and mostly things are OK. Not cooking breakfast on a server yet. Any guidance would be appreciated.
