Greetings,
I don't want my laptop to shut down after the APC's battery runs out. Instead, I want to use my laptop's battery. How do I disable automatic shutdown?
When I open PowerChute Personal Edition 3.0.2 and click Runtime, I can specify the time before shutdown, but not disable shutdown.
Thanks,
Shane.

Shane,
As the name implies PowerChute (Parachute) is designed to provide graceful shutdown / landing of the OS. If you want to disable shutdown you need to stop APC UPS Service and change it to start manually. When you stop APC UPS Service the APC Data Service stops as will so event are not logged. PowerChute will still display the status of the UPS showing when the UPS is on battery and the battery charge but it will not display Time Until Shutdown or Estimated Battery Time.
Note: Running PowerChute with the services stopped is not supported by Schneider Electric.
