@jtan1966

Sorry I misspoke earlier. By default the NTP service is inactive when PCNS VM is installed. Someone locally has to enable it.

BillP_0-1713355298165.png

To stop the VM from using NTP enter the command timedatectl set-ntp off

If you want to permanently disable NTP on the VM enter the command systemctl disable chronyd systemct stop chronyd

If you want the VM to use an internal NTP server edit /etc/chrony.conf

Comment out the line pool 2.cloudlinux.pool.ntp.org iburst

add the line server <IP address of the NTP server>

Example

#pool 2.cloudlinux.pool.ntp.org iburst

server 192.168.0.11

restart the service

systemctl restart chronyd

@jtan1966

The PCNS 4.4.3 VM is AlmaLinux. See How to change AlmaLinux NTP client.

https://linuxconfig.org/how-to-configure-ntp-server-and-client-on-almalinux

BTW: By the NTP service is inactive. It must be enable locally.

Thanks BillP your comments and suggestion.

Yes I know and enabled synchronize VMWare tools NTP clients as below

jtan1966_3-1713255713239.png

Our Network team told me, those PCSN server NTP protocol access to out side and blocking.

So, I review existing status NTP service access, looks like access to outside

jtan1966_1-1713255517306.png

I review exsiting configuration file "/etc/chrony.conf"

jtan1966_2-1713255594760.png

Existing nothing any NTP server settings, should I add "Server local NTP server IP" and restart service?

Best Regards.

Thanaks BillP your quick reply and more explanation.

I just updated and confirmed access ntp to internal.

I enabled both time synchronize VMWate tools and ntp this time.

Is it not nessesary enable both option, only enable time synchronize via VMWate tool would be enough?

Anyway, thanks your help and I'll take note for next time setup PCNS include this operation
