Galaxy 3000 Web Card

We have an MGE Galaxy 3000 UPS in which we have installed the MGE Model 66074 Transverse Web/SNMP Network Monitoring Card. The UPS has slots for up to 4 cards and there was already a factory installed Alarm Relay Communication Card in the top available slot. We installed the NMC in the next slot down and were able to successfully configure the network information via the serial port and subsequently access the interface over our LAN. The problem is that with the relay card inserted, the Web card does not communicate with the UPS. It shows a communication fault and receives no information (model, load, battery level, etc) about the UPS. If we un-seat the relay card everything works fine. We tried swapping slots with no gain. Will these two cards operate simultaneously, or are we limited to using one or the other?

I asked a colleague of mine and he reported to me that this is an issue we've seen before. If the relay card is not being used, it should be removed. The relay card, when not wired to a monitoring system, can pull too much power and bring down the communication bus. Typically, Field Service Engineers will install the screws in the slot then insert the relay card. This way, the card will not be lost and the screws don’t allow the card to make contact with the communication bus.
