If the firmware is upgraded in the Network Management card (9619), will this cause the UPS to shutdown and reboot itself?
Thanks

the answer is no. it only reboots the management card itself which will have no effect on the UPS load. you can do this safely. the only other note i'd like to make is that if you have powerchute network shutdown configured with any servers that are on this particular UPS, the management card will temporarily lose communication with any powerchute clients (while it reboots). if you have any servers set to shutdown on the "lost communication with network management card" then they will gracefully shutdown. you could temporarily disable this event from causing a shutdown though.
this applies to similar products made by APC that have an integrated management card such as a PDU. there will be no effects on the outlets when you reboot the management interface or upgrade the firmware.

Interesting question.
This is both a Yes and No answer...
If you're not using PCNS, the answer is No. The card will go offline for approximately 8-10 minutes while the firmware upgrade completes. It will not affect power to the UPS during that time.
If you're using PCNS, the answer is Possibly/Yes. I've recently come across some customers who have configured the event in PCNS for "UPS: Communication Lost" which they have also configured to shutdown the UPS after the shutdown finishes.
The NMC will be offline for that time, causing a Communication Lost event with the PCNS client. The PCNS client will then breach its settings, begin a shutdown, and send a shutdown command back to the UPS. It's possible that the UPS will not receive this shutdown command because it may be in the process of rebooting itself. But if it is received, it will begin a graceful shutdown on the UPS.
