Firmware Upgrade for AP8865

Hey guys, 

Working on configuring some PDU's we have in our DC.

We have some AP8865 PDUs and I am looking to find if there is any firmware available to upgrade these things. I check the APC site and there are no updates listed.

Am I missing something, am I having to pay support for this?

The reason I am looking for an upgrade is that if I have SSH console enabled on these, the cipher they are requesting is aes256-cbc or 3des-cbc. Each of those are known to being vulnerable and have been phased out.

I would hope APC is on top of ensuring these are updated, otherwise I might just have to disable SSH for these.

On this PDU the firmware is currently running: 

Rack PDU Version 6.5.6

Let me know where I can find the firmware update to download and get these secure again.

All of the relevant NMC Firmware are contained in this APC Resource Link:

You’ll need to determine which NMC is present (NMC 2 / NMC 3) before downloading the same.

Firmware on any APC RPDU should only be done while in warranty live over the phone with APC Technical Support. ☝️

As you risk bricking a perfectly healthy and working system doing so! You need only do a Google Search on this forum / Internet to affirm the same.

NOTE: Have an exit strategy and hot spare if things goes sideways. Read and understand all prerequisites and requirements prior to upgrading the firmware.
