Receiving a message that the UPS is in a fault state: Batt soft start. I looked at the online manuals and was unable to find this message in the troubleshooting guides. Where do I go from here? Model #SMX2200RMHV2U
The UPS has been sitting on the shelf with the battery removed for a little over a year. I plugged in the UPS about 20 hours ago to charge. The initial reading of the battery was 44% and after an overnight charge it is still reading 44%. All LEDs are in a normal state.

Hi,
The battery should be replaced. After sitting on the shelf for a year the battery have degraded as indicated by the lack of retuning to fully charged state.
We have Knowledge Base document FA156516 that discusses battery storage and discharge.
