F06 error code on Back-UPS BX1500M
Device: Back-UPS BX1500M
Purchase: 03/01/2023 from Amazon.com
Setting: I use the battery backup outlets for my desktop computer, monitor, inkjet printer AC adapter, and network router switch AC adapter; a total of less than 150 watts. I’m not using any of the surge-only outlets. I regularly shut-down the desktop, then power down the Back-UPS, when the system will not be used for eight hours or more.
Issue: Last week, for the first time, I sat down at my home workstation after previously completing the shut-down described above, only to find all the attached devices receiving power, even though the Back-UPS was off. When I tried to power up the ups, the alarm/ tone/ beep sounded continuously, and the display showed F06. I tried to understand “relay welding” by searching online but got nowhere, and of course my user manual says “cannot be corrected by the user”.
Follow-up: The episode recurred yesterday, and I have discovered that if I unplug the ups from (wall outlet) AC power, and leave it for 30-60 minutes, that I can plug the unit back into the wall outlet and it will then power up normally.
Can an APC representative tell me what is going on, and/ or what to do about it?

If there was a relay weld error submit a RMA with APC Technical Support. The unit needs to be replaced and the problem won’t go away but will get worse.
Please do follow up with us as to how everything turns out. You’ll need to provide them the receipt, serial number, and error codes prior to calling / emailing them. 👍
