Error - "A ups was found that is not supported by this application"

I have a Matrix 5000 with an AP9606 snmp/web card installed.

In the web console I changed the UPS Name setting located in Configuration | General Settings section from the default "UPS_IDEN" to "TRD LEFT".

Since then I have lost access to the Matrix 5000's configuration settings in both web and telnet sessions.

In the web console now, I don't even see the Matrix 5000 menu item on the left side of the page.

In telnet, I get a message "A ups was found that is not supported by this application."

This new UPS name is stored in the EU. When I traverse the menus I see the new name "TRD LEFT" stored as the UPS ID in the diagnostic menu.

I am convinced that this problem was caused by this name change and more specifically because there is a space in the new name.

Does anybody know of a way to reset this name in the EU?

Just to confirm, you're running SUMX firmware on this 9606 that can be obtained here:

ftp://ftp.apc.com/apc/public/hardware/webcard/firmware/security/v326b/

use SUMX326A.bin and AOS326B.bin
