Hi,
on support pages I select "Firmware Upgrades - UPS Network Management Card" from drop down field. I then click on "download" for "Network Management Card v3.7.2 Firmware for Smart-UPS with AP9617/8/9". I then get an error message within browser, that this directory does not exist.
We have four SUA5000RMT5U with 9617 NMC, current firmware version is reported as 657.18.I. How can I find out whether I need an update and where can I find the newest firmware for our UPS?
Thanks for a hint,
Stefano

I just attempted this and after waiting for the restart, the device was unresponsive, I can't access it through my web browser either.
Now I'm letting it sit for a while, then I'll pull it and plug it back in, I'm wondering if this would also be acceptable to force it to restart, so that I could continue with the upgrade. (I'm guessing the firmware is out of date, I can't actually find the version anywhere in the ui.
Edit: the web page loaded but now gives an application error, so I'll have to login via telnet to find out more.
Edit 2: alright, so it's on version 3.7.3, which seems to be the new one, trying to reboot it through telnet did not work either so I'll have to pull the card and try a hard reboot in a bit.
edit 3: Nope, it's still screwed, it can't see that it's connecting to the ups, device manager shows nothing, and I just get the application error page, even though the card itself is semi functional.
how can I get this working again?
edit 4: figured I would try the upgrade again and this time it worked, it's defintiely new firmware too, I don't know what I was on before but this is more like it. Hopefully this can help anyone else that runs across this.
Edit 5: actually the old software showed quite a bit more information on a single page, and sadly this didn't add the ability to stage shutdowns, but oh well. I won't need to go into it much.

Hi Stefano,
You can find the latest AP9617 firmware for Smart-UPS here that you were trying to download -> ftp://restrict:Kop$74!@ftp.apcc.com/restricted/hardware/nmcard/firmware/sumx/372/apc_hw02_aos373_sum... Does this link work?
But, the firmware you referenced - 657.18.I - is actually the firmware on your SUA5000RMT5U. The UPS itself cannot be upgraded. For the actual firmware on your AP9617 management card, check under Administration->General->About and you should see an AOS/Application firmware. If you have a really old version, you may see a Help->about system menu on the left hand side navigation instead but you'll see an AOS and APP version here.
Instructions on applying the AP9617 firmware if you need it are here -> http://www.schneider-electric.us/en/faqs/FA156047

Ok, thanks Angela. The download error was caused by internal company firewall rules (with misdirecting error message). Now I found firmware file and found where to check your NMC firmware.
Regards,
Stefano
