Enabling SNMP v1 on an NMC installed on a Smart-UPS RT 10000 XL
Hello,
I enabled SNMP on the NMC, but cannot get/walk using a SNMP command line client
Seems that SNMP is not enabled since a nmap scan does not show the 161 UDP port open.
Checked everything : community names, IP configuration, gateways, masks. The client and the NMC are on the same subnet.
I wonder if you have to reboot the UPS to enable SNMP.
And if so, will it shutdown power to the loads during the reboot ?

Hi RodV, you can reboot the NMC (admin -> general -> reset/reboot -> reboot management interface) without having it effect your load (the NMC and the UPS are separate in that fact) however rebooting the ups will take your load down. As for the actually troubleshooting, i would also check to make sure you have the latest powernet MIB installed as well as open ports 161 and 162 UDP. I see you checked the community names, how baout the access type for the community name/s as well. Hope this helps.
