Hi Community!
I want to use PCNS to shutdown an ESXi 7.0.3 Single Host.
I deployed and configured the PCNS Appliance like described in the Video "PCNS442-ESXiHost" on this website: https://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA296461/
When the UPS is on battery mode, the appliance web interface creates a log and after the configured time it logs that the shutdown sequence gets started.
The ESXi logs that the user, that I configured in PCNS to communicate with the ESXi Host, does a log on but nothing else happens.
Of course the ESXi user has admin rights. I also tried to use the root user of ESXi but that did not fix the problem.
I checked many videos, manuals and so on but I don't find a solution for my problem.
Maybe someone here can help me?
Thanks in advance!

Is the ESXi host licensed? If not it will not shutdown. If it is licensed look in the ESXi Event and Task logs to see what many be happening. You should also verify connection by checking the PowerChute debug log. The debug log will be found in /opt/APC/PowerChute/group1

Thank you very much for your reply. Now I know the reason. The ESXi is not licensed.
Do you know if the Essentials license is enough that PCNS can shut down the host?

Yes. The Essential license is supported. See Schneider Electric FAQ https://www.se.com/ww/en/faqs/FA278213/
