Does Masterswitch Plus AP9225EXP + AP9606 = AP9225 w/APC installed AP9606?

I picked up two MasterSwitch Plus "expansion cabinets", Model AP9225EXP, each of which had an AP9606 SNMP card installed (presumably by a prior owner). As I understand it, the 9225EXP does not come with the AP9606 pre-installed, as it is designed to "slave" off a 9225 with the card factory installed by APC. The question I have is, if one does install an AP9606 in an AP9225EXP, does one end up with a unit with 100% of the functionality of a factory-created AP9225 with the factory installed AP9606? Also, aside from Masterswitch-to-UPS cabling, does one need a specially wired console cable to communicate with a MasterSwitch for configuration purposes (and if so, which APC cables will do the job, in addition to any actually specified in the user guide), or will a standard straight-through serial cable, or a null modem cable, do the job? Thanks. -- Dan

Yeah, you should be able to put in your own AP9606 if you've got one, and use it in the EXP unit. It will have the same functionality as the AP9225. Just make sure you put the correct firmware on your AP9606 because I'm guessing it didn't originally come out of a MasterSwitch.

You can also install an AP9617 management card in the MasterSwitch, and use this firmware:

These two cards have built in Web Cards and they do not support upgrading to a newer network management card.

Does the MasterSwitch VMcontroller ( AP9224 or AP9221nx166 ) support upgrading to the newer Web/SNMP card too?

Hello,

The new Switched Rack PDUs use the newer Network Managment Card (AP9617) technology.

The link below is a NEMA 5-15 input/NEMA 5-15 output.
