Greetings everyone. Today I woke up to what appears to be a completely dead UPS. The LCD is dark, the fans aren't running and there are no signs of life from the installed AP9631 NMC (no LEDs solid on or blinking).
Schematics are non existent but I do think there must be an issue with one of the low voltage power supplies. There are no user replaceable fuses inside the unit and I can't locate any larger circuit breakers protecting the unit. When plugged in and an ear close to the main circuit board there is a very quiet but steady, fast (three or four times a second), ticking sound possibly like a relay kicking in and out rapidly.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how to proceed?
Thanks for any help you may be able to offer.

Thanks Prince and Gareth. The battery is four or five months old and is reading right at 128 volts which is about right. Gareth, I'll check out that forum you spoke of. Also, I have a line of a donor mother board that might just be the ticket.
Thanks again,
Joe

Hi,
Don't waste time on dead UPS. Servicing is not suitable when comparing its cost, also will probably require whole board replacement. Better buy new one and forget about damaged unit.

Maybe visit the badcaps forum as you will not get official support and Prince likes to say you have no hope in fixing a dead UPS, of course this isn't true given the right skill set and a few hints along the way.
It could be as simple as a bad relay if it is clicking in and out.
Have you pulled the battery packs and tested the voltage on them?
