I have a IBM rebranded Smart UPS with an APC 9617 NMC.
Is it possible to schedule a power interruption of several minutes to equipment attached to the outputs of my UPS? Will the batteries still be charged during this period?
So in fact the power to the equipment should be switched off 5-10 minutes or maybe longer and then be switched back on.

Tkanks Angela I was hoping it would work. Is this possible with all NMCs?

Yes, you can do this under UPS tab->Scheduling in the web UI. You can do a one time, daily, or weekly action at a particular time. You can set the sleep time of the UPS to 5-10 minutes or whatever you want and schedule the UPS to Sleep event. A reboot option is also available but it won't delay as long as 5-10 minutes. And if AC power is still present even though the UPS output is off, yes batteries will still charge.

Yup - depends on the application. For single phase UPSs, it is. I am not sure if all the 3 phase UPSs support it just because of their size. Switched Rack PDUs also support doing this at the outlet or outlet group level.
