DLA-1500 - Reset model number after accidental clear command in console

The unit had the config cleared with the Y command at the serial console trying to fix an odd issue where the eeprom appeared to have some garbage in it. It was showing that it was a rackmount unit instead of a tower.

I know the stock answer is it's not field reparable but there are some posts where users were successful resetting the model & thereby seeing the right voltage choices by hitting the 'b' key in prog mode. Then they used the -/+ keys to 'cycle' through firmware number choices & reset to the right number that corresponded to the correct model.

My unit is a bit different in that when you hit 'b', you don't get to cycle though with the +/- keys. Instead, it expects you to type a 3 digit number and it beeps with confirmation on each key, then you hit b again & it shows the changed value.  So I tried setting it to 601 and 653 which I think were the right firmware versions. However, the value needs to be something more along the lines of 601.1.d format.  In my case, no matter what I set the first three (and only) characters to, I cannot find a way to change the .1.m that it's currently is set to to a .1.d.

Bottom line is I'm wondering if there's some other hidden command to change the reset of the model / firmware version that I'm not finding in my many hours of searching online.

If that fails, does anyone know if it's reasonably possible to pull the eeprom from a working unit & have it copied to this one ? I hate to just trash the unit (it's a home theater unit for me) and I'm more curious & determined than anything at this point.

Thanks for any tips.

Thanks so much for that. Didn't show up on any of the smart protocol eeprom programming docs that I could find in a couple of days. Unit is back in service.
