Log files for a Smart-UPS 2200 RM are continually showing the critical battery power status messages below. The battery mfr date is 4/11/09. Firmware is 665.6.D. Load in Watts is 50.0%, and Runtime Remaining is 15 minutes. Battery Capacity is 100%. What is causing these messages to be generated and what can be done to test for problems and/or resolve the issue that is causing them to be generated? Does this indicate that the battery needs to be replaced?
Thanks for any assistance.

It passed the calibration test, but it looks like the battery needs to be replaced. The log file is no longer showing these messages repeatedly.
Thanks for your help!

Have you tried running a battery calibration, or if you can just disconnect the ac from the unit and see how long its lasts . If the batteries where never replaced they are going on there 5th year and the average life span for a battery is 2-3 years

it'd also be helpful to know what the "low battery duration" or "low battery signaling" time is set to. this is a setting within the UPS network management card that it sounds like you're using under UPS->Configuration->Shutdown.
can you please post the full log files and configuration file? you can delete any sensitive information out of them as well. i wonder if the load is fluctuating a bit and with the older batteries, is dropping down close to the low battery duration value i mentioned. if the runtime comes within 2 minutes of this value, this message can be reported. the default is 2 minutes though so it'd mean you're runtime is dropping down to near 4 minutes. this setting can be changed though so that is why i am asking if it has been raised.

thanks!
