Hi all,
I try to configure ATS AP7722 IP address.
As I understand only way how can I do it - is using "APC Device IP configuration wizard"
I start wizard, wizard's found device, I insert IP/mask/gw , press "Finish"
After that I get error:
"Could not send the Reply packet"
I try to do it via network and serial cable - the same result.
What I am doing wrong?
Thanks.
Zigmunds

ok good. page 9 in the manual itself (not the PDF) reviews the DHCP configuration which i am sure you figured out.
let us know if you need anything else 🙂

[check out this knowledgebase article|http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3061/]
if you want to try the wizard, please make sure you are using version 3.0.3 which is required for windows vista, 2008, and windows 7 to work properly..this can be downloaded from apc.com->[software and firmware downloads|http://www.apc.com/tools/download/], Firmware Upgrades - Wizards and configurators->Download SFDIPW303
the older wizard may be the issue here so you can try the newer one or any of the other methods in the knowledgebase article i began this post with.

Hello,
yes, I use v3.0.3.
I also log in via serial cable, but there is no IP configuration possibility - that's reason why I try to use this wizard.
p.s
we have APC Symmetra® MW
Thanks.

symmetra megawatt wont work for this. do you have anything smaller?
also, what did you see when you accessed the device via the serial cable? anything? what serial cable did you use? do you have a DHCP server on your network?

Hello,
no I don't have other UPS in this environment .
When I access ATS via the serial cable I can see screen:
AP7722 Automatic Transfer Switch
Main Menu
1 - Status
2 - Measurements
3 - Switch Configuration
4 - Alarms
5 - Event Counts
6 - Event Log
7 - Device Data
8 - Factory Data
9 - Log Out
10 - System Admin
System Messages :
Menu Selection >
I found in documentation that ATS AP7722 IP can't be configured via serial cable , that's why I tried to use IP conf wizard.
At this moment I don't have any DHCP server in this network, but if is way how to configure ATS, I will create dhcp pool for ATS.
That is very interesting, because I can configure all APC devices (PDU, ENV units) via serial cable.
Thanks!
Zigmunds

yup. this one is special, not sure it was designed this way. other ATSs in this family have an option 11 for NMC Config which allows you to do it via the serial cable.
this unit needs to be configured via DHCP. the documentation, did you see the part about the DHCP vendor cookie?
