I have two INROW RC ACRC103, chilled water type cooling systems installed in a datecenter. One of the system recently started to display cooling demand and cooling output as 30KW ! There is a similar system installed in the same datecenter which is also working good. Except for the values of cooling demand/outputand fluid out temp. rest all other values are displayed same when compared from the data logs. Also fans in this system runs at high speed which was the reported problem from the customer. They have the latest firmware. How to determine the actual cooling demand/output of the system ? How to correct the displayed values ?
Thanks and regards
Bala

Bala,
Because of the technical inquiry and the information that needs to be communicated regarding your Infrastruxure Cooling unit, have you discussed this problem with Tech Support? I would recommend contacting them and seeing what they have to say.

I would highly recommend you contact ISX Support. Myself as an Admin and the other moderators on this board only handle Single Phase Power and Rackmount cooling. We do not touch Infrastruxure since APC has implemented both a Three-Phase Power and ISX Cooling team.

Hey Bali, to give you answers on a user information sharing BBS like this, it will not be as productive as speaking to the applications technical support folks for your datecenter solution, but I wouldn't assume the displayed values are wrong. If you DO think they are wrong, and your customer purchased on site support services with the ACRC103 units, just call the number and the technician who responds can troubleshoot any problems with the system. I assume your reluctance to contact tech support is because you do not have an on-site agreement in place. In that case your questions can be answered by reading the operations and user manuals.
InfraStruXure InRow RC Operation and Troubleshooting (Manual)
All the doc sets are here: http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=ACRC103&tab=documentation
I'm an engineer and would love to be able to help you, but I'd need alot more detailed information, things like the room dimensions, the row and rack orientations, the floor layout, the wall construction type, the ACTUAL measured power draw for each rack, the maintenance schedule of the RC units and the associated strainers and filters on the water supply, and the piping and chilled water flow/pump measurments and performance characteristics.

Thanks for the reply Tech Tuff. I am not reluctant to call support guys. And as a question, if I dont buy a onsite contract, still I guess I can ask for technical support over email or telephone or not ?
I am an engineer too and sorted this issue. All your parameter requirement are valuble interms of answering the tech question which matters for the performance of cooling systems. I was looking for a quicke or tips if anyone knows about this kind of problems.
I have seen in the manuals and the total capacity of the system is 18KW of cooling and if I see a 30KW output, sure there is something wired and there was. Anyway its fixed now.
Regards
BALA
