Hello everyone, I am looking for information on installing powerchute business to servers connected to my APC smart-ups x 3000VA with network card.
I was under the impression that there would a network agent that I would be able to install on each server (all are running windows server 2008 R2), which would allow for a graceful shutdown if our building were to experience an extended power outage.
I attempted to install agent provided on cd, but it looks for a directly connected APC smart-ups (using USB or serial).

Hi Andy,
Since you already have a network card, I would advise you download PowerChute Network Shutdown from the following link: http://www.apc.com/tools/download/index.cfm
PowerChute network shutdown is free and is a lot more customizable than PCBE. All you need to do is install the PCNS agent on every server you wish to have a graceful shutdown on. With PCNS you do not have to be directly connected to the UPS, shutdown can be accomplished over the network.
