Can’t connect new vSphere 7 after moved PCNS4.2 from vSphere 5 to 7

The client is using UPS Network Management Card 2 (AP9631) with vSphere 5

Recently, they added vShpere 7 Server.

Then moved PCNS4.2 for VMware (VM) from vSphere 5 to vSphere 7 successfully. The VM can run on vSphere 7successfully.

When login PCNS Web portal and want to change vCenter Server but failed.

And need to input new password?  Please help. Thanks.

@EcoAxis

PCNS 4.2 is not compatible with vCenter 7.x. You should uninstall PCNS 4.2 and install PCNS 4.4.3 OVA that can be downloaded from https://www.se.com/ww/en/product-range/61933-powerchute-network-shutdown

Hi @EcoAxis

Thank you for reaching out to the SE Community, my name is Jon and I will assist you with this query.  Kindly refer to the FAQ articles provided below:

  • How to run PowerChute Network Shutdown 4.4.2 & 4.4.3 setup wizard & configure for VMware ESXi hosts ...
  • PowerChute Network Shutdown reports it cannot connect with VMware vCenter Server. (FA313041)
  • How to create a local user account that PowerChute will use to communicate with VMware ESXi hosts an...
  • How to add local Windows user account to vCenter Server (FA241010)

As seen from the articles above, there is a possibility that a local account needs to be set on the vCenter Server.  If the problem persists, I recommend reaching out to our technical support handling your country and providing the PowerChute Network Shutdown and Network Management Card log files.

  • Files to gather when troubleshooting PowerChute Network Shutdown 3.1, 4.x, and PowerChute Business E...
  • Video: How can I download Event, Data, Configuration, and Debug files from my Network Management Car...

I hope this helps.

Hi JonPro

Thanks for your reply.

We have added new local account to vCenter Server7. Also tried add User to ESXi 7

a1122.JPG

Always appear "Could not connect to the vCenter Server over the network"

It seems not related to login credentials and seems can't make connection with vCenter 7. Don't know which steps are wrong. Please advise.

** PCNS4.2 and vSphere 7 **
