Hi folks, I understand that SmartUPS 750 is only rated until 500 Watts / 750 VA. What happens if I use it with a 750W power supply or assuming the power consumption is above 500W. Would the UPS still able to provide power (maybe for a shorter period) or it'll just go off when without me having the chance to save my work? Also, is there a utility we can install to monitor the actual usage of power (in wattage)?
Thanks in advance for all the help

the UPS will become overloaded. i believe it can handle an overload of ~105% for 30 seconds or something like that then it will shutdown due to an overload. If its an extreme inrush of current, the UPS will immediately shutdown.
you can install powerchute business edition and monitor the UPS load via USB or serial communication. if this is installed on the operating system, it will gracefully shutdown the computer. again, most likely this will not save you in the case of an overload though.
the UPS has a load bar graph on the front LED display as well indicating the approximate percentage of load on the UPS which will be helpful. see my attachment for the front panel indicators on the UPS.
