Currently I have a Smart-UPS X 3000 with 43% load. I'm looking to buy another one for a system with about the same load. The difference is this 2nd site has a generator. The generator is a very large 50kw industrial type. I'm not sure the exact brand or model yet.
Should I go with another Smart-UPS X 3000 or look at the Smart-Ups On-Line models instead? Should I go with another 3000VA based on the above load or jump up to a 5000? I might install a couple more servers.
Thanks

The Output Power Capacity is lower wattage on the Online UPS so that's why I was thinking I may need to upgrade to a 5000.
Smart-UPS RT 3000VA: 2100 Watts / 3000 VA
Smart-UPS 3000VA RM 2U LCD 120V: 2700 Watts / 3000 VA
Even though they are both 3000va, will the load be higher on the RT ? My concern is if I add a couple more servers, the load might be higher than recommended. What do you think?

A 43 % load is pretty low so i would say 3kva is acceptable... The smart ups online UPS are generally better with generators, however as long as they are properly sized/maintained etc, it may not be necessary. This line also offers no transfer time and a bypass functionality which may or may not be a feature you want or need.
