Battery replacement problem

I just purchased a brand new SRT8K, and when I got the batteries connected and turned it on, it immediately told me I need to replace RBC 1 and RBC 2.   Guessing that's probably not correct, any ideas why its telling me that?

Firstly, check you have set the date and time correctly on the UPS / NMC. Then unplug the batteries and wait until the UPS alarms to say the batteries are disconnected. Plug the batteries back in and the UPS will ask if you have installed new batteries. Say yes and this will update the install date and clear the fault.

if you start up the UPS and the date is wrong, the battery install date is set incorrectly which causes the UPS to report end of life batteries.

Hi

When you installed the batteries you should have been asked if they were new, this adds an install date for them into the UPS.

Can you check what the install date says in the Configuration/Battery option

It might just need the install date adjusting, which can be done in the same place.

Regards

Matt

I updated the install date when I turned it on, so I don't think that's it.

I would suggest that you allow the unit to charge for 8 hours and then see if you can initiate a self test. If the issue persists, contact your local support team for warranty support. http://www.apc.com/site/support/

thanks
