Hi
Is there any document from KB or white paper that state the best practice when to replace a battery ( i.e. every 2 yrs or 3 yrs ) for Single phase and 3 phase ups?

Thanks for the info guys.
Im not sure if this is true or not as a best practice, as per IT guy every 2 years they replace the battery of the UPS even the battery is still in good condition ( Single phase or 3 phase UPS ) bcoz they can't afford a sudden downtime due to battery faulty/issue.

Hi Hanz,
I am unable to find a document on this, mostly because this is a true matter of environment. Personally, I have seen batteries last anywhere from 1-10 years all depending on the owner and envrionment. Factors that effect battery lifespan include:
-Temperature of room
-Number of discharges
-Quality of input power
-Time in storage prior to installation
-Type of unit
For single phase, we give a rough estimate of 3-5 years to answer your question once we explain the above contributing factors.
Regards,
