BE750G Back-UPS power management not functioning

BE750G Back-UPS power management not functioning.  I have been told by friends this may be due to the Dell Optiplex 9010 power supply and that I will require a pure sine wave, not a stepped sine.  My peripheral devices shut down if I activate power management (in x seconds, depending on the setting). I have removed batteries, cold started and tried all threshold levels.Of course I have checked and rechecked the cabling.  The Optiplex 9010 uses the Intel i5-3570 processor.

If the sine wave issue is correct (and I have no way of verifying) are there APC models that will function with the Dell?

I am a little confused. I read the thread one way and asked someone else and they read it a different way. So, I would just like to clarify.

Are you saying that when your UPS goes to battery power, it turns off (or reboots?) I am getting confused with your reference to "power management" and where that is and what you mean - is it in the PowerChute software or Windows Native UPS/battery settings?

I just want to verify so I can help make a recommendation.

It is true that some power supplies, especially those that are power factor corrected, don't handle either the step approximated sinewave or the transfer time well or can just be undersized in general.
