APC Smart-UPS 750VA LCD 230V / SMT750I
Hi, I have been looking at the SMT750I, and it states that it "provides remote management over a network". Does it provide that remote management without an add-in smartslot card, or do you have to buy the network management card for the unit as well?
I don't need any shutdown capabilities or real management capability from the units, as I don't know of any switches that can be powered off gracefully. I just want to be able to monitor them in terms of the state of the battery...whether it's still good or not...whether the unit is online...etc. Need only monitor battery and state.
Is the UPS monitoring port on the back that looks like an ethernet RJ45 - UPS Monitoring Port?

Hi,
As I mentioned in the other thread you posted to you could install PowerChute Business Edition to communicate with the UPS assuming the OS is compatible. After installing you would need to select Do not shutdown when running the initial configuration setup and then go into the configurable events and deselect all events that will power down the OS.

Hi,
If you do not want shutdown you will need a network management card AP9630 or AP9631.

And are there options? Without installing a network management card?
