Hi,
I'm using APC Smart-UPS SMT1000I UPS without Management Card.
It's connected via serial port and I'm able to get diagnostic info in Powerchute Business Edition installed od vmWare vMA (SUSE) - web interface.
Because of using centralized monitoring system (Zabbix) I'd like to include UPS statistic and status data into its database.
Unfortunately I cannot find any solution to get this work. Currently I'm able to read "DataLog" of Powerchute Agent, but there are only few parameters (voltage, load...) and of course parsing logfile isn't perfect solution. I'd like also gather other data like remaining runtime, device status, event log (EventLog file is a binary file, not text, so can't parse it).
Is there any solution to do this? Using software like Zabbix, Nagios etc. is very common.
Thanks.

The network management card works with Linux and provides SNMP for monitoring. Alternatively you could try a third party software called APCUPSd although you'd have to figure out how to hook it up to your monitoring systems.

I would get the network management card. But there also appears to be a way to enable SNMP in PowerChute Business Edition described here: http://www.schneider-electric.us/en/faqs/FA159596/

Unfortunately we have linux-only machines in our environment. This solution is Windows dedicated.
