Hi There! I am hoping to get some good advice because I am at a loss at the moment.
One of my APC SMART UPS C1500 Batteries has been displaying the L.02 warning on the screen for the past week or so. The manual says the L.02 warning indicates "LIFETIME EXCEEDED" I was initially working with our IT company to get this diagnosed and fixed. They said I should replace the battery. Unfortunately the battery is sold out on the APC website at the moment. The It company we are contracted with were unable to help me find it anywhere else and said I needed to reach out to a local IT company for additional help . We never had to do that in the past - so now I am scrambling to find a local IT company to partner with that will take weeks- a month to set up.
The biggest issue is I will be leaving to be out of town for two weeks. Where I am going will require 12 hours of travel time to reach the destination, so I could not hop on a plane and get back to the office very quickly/easily. I am very concerned about leaving when this is still an issue.
So I have a few questions...
1. The light is still solid green, indicating it is online. That has not changed since the L.02 warning popped up.
2. The battery light (top right corner - across from the green light) has not turned green or amber.
3. The lights have not blinked/turned amber/no warning sounds are coming from the device
Considering all of the above, will this device be healthy enough to last until I return 4/28? When that warning displays do you typically have 30 days to replace or should it be done immediately? I am going to order the battery while I am gone so it is there waiting when I land so I can go straight to the office to replace the battery. I am hoping due to the fact that it is online and there are no amber lights that is a good sign.
I know this is lengthy I just tried to include as much info as possible. If you have made it this far- THANK YOU. I truly appreciate all of your time and expertise.

I also have one. From what I understand that is hardware error code. APC does not publish or make the list of codes available. you need new unit if brain dead reset wont work see;

Were you getting an L.01 code before the L.02 code came up?
There are APC batteries available on Amazon (surprise, surprise), but I buy mine locally.
There probably won't be any other errors showing for the batteries as long as the system has AC power, as the batteries are hot swappable, assuming (gasp) that this error only refers to the battery and not the entire unit.
I am NOT an expert on these and my experience is limited.
I am still trying to determine if this error (L.01) and yours (L.02) are referring to the batteries or the entire unit.
I will find that out today when I replace the batteries on mine.

I was able to reset code by saying that battery was replaced.
To enter to configuration mode hold the MUTE and MENU buttons together for 2 seconds until the system emits a short beep and the display will flash to indicate the UPS has entered Configuration Mode.
When in Configuration Mode, the MENU button cycles the display through the available options.
The MUTE button toggles the configuration settings for that option.
rb.0 - Did not replace battery (default)
rb.1 - Battery has been replaced Select rb.1 to indicate that the battery has been replaced, this will reset the constants for the battery runtime calibration to the default for a new battery.
So, press 'menu' several times until you see rb0, then press 'sound' button to change it to rb1, then 'menu' to save changes

Pavigo you are the king. My C1500 was displaying the L.01 error code ever since I got two new USANDBATTERY replacements more than a week ago and the LCD would stay on at all times with this alarm showing. Tried everything under the sun but would not chance playing with the menu options are they are not documented anywhere that I could find. But came across this post, cycled to rb.0 to rb.1 in the menu as per your post and I heard a CLICK! All is fixed now. Thank you so much. Denis

I have an APC C1000 UPS. After hot swapping the battery, I had to fully power down the unit and remove the battery again to clear the original battery error. After this when I started the unit it displayed the error L.02. Using the guide from the above post by Pavigo, I cleared the error. Thanks!
