APC Personal Edition on SBS 2008

The forum software doesn't seem to want to let me edit my post. FWIW it also throws an exception when I try to log out.

I wanted to add that my difficulty is likely something else. Having installed and uninstalled PCPE then running a registry cleaner, the battery settings section does not reappear on the advanced power settings dialog in the power configuration control panel applet. I corrected a problem with the ACPI driver on my system, so that is probably not the culprit. The UPS battery does appear in the list of hardware devices (BR700G).

edit: I found that by uninstalling the APC battery driver from the computer management screen and restarting the machine that the default driver would be reinstalled and the OS would once again detect the presence of the battery. So problem solved and never mind.

Why post these instructions for all to see? Why do I even do a search in here if you guys don't post the info for everyone? This seems to be the policy with APC? Why? Sheesh!!!

mainly because we don't want people googling stuff like this and finding it on APC's website and then blaming APC for the harm that a user may cause to their system by editing the registry. i realize we could also put a disclaimer on it but personally, it is not my decision.
