Hi All, I am soon to be receiving an AP 9619 NMC for my APC UPS Does anyone know if it accepts authenticated SMTP ? Having looked online I get mixed reviews as to yes or no, I primarily purchased it so that I could receive email alerts in the event of a power cut whilst I am not on site. But I need to authenticate to my main mail server, so would be a shame to miss out on this. Or is there any anonymous smtp servers online I can send mail from ? If it does not support this, I have heard about setting up a local SMTP server for anonymous login and then relay that to the authenticated server ? Could anyone assist on this ? I have never set anything in regards to mail up, I would ideally like the card to accept authenticated servers then I don't have additional points of failure, and having to keep another machine up during a power outage so that I can be alerted. Many Thanks.

Thanks for the reply back...
Would it be possible for you to expand on how I would set up a mail relay ?
Cheers.

Hello,
Unfortunately AP9619 NMC's does not support authenticated SMTP, only the AP9630, AP9631 and AP9635 cards support this. The option as you suggested also is to create a mail relay and have the AP9619 send email to a mail relay over port 25 and then relay that to the actual mail server over the specified port with SMTP authentication.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
B
