Hi,
I'm Andrea and I'm new in the forum, so I try to post here my problem.
I've to configure on two servers an APC KVM-USBVM and before this operation I'm tested it on my laptop. The device is connected through the VGA and the USB to the laptot (it recognize it correctly) and with a network cable to the LAN switch. It signals to me that is active (power-led) but the link one does not blink confirmed also in that I don't see traffic on the switch port.
Anyone can explain to me how it works?
Andrea Meneghinello

Hi Andrea,
Which model KVM do you have? The KVM-USBVM server module is only supported with KVMxxx model devices (such as the KVM0232P for example).
A typical setup would have the server modules (KVM-USBVM) connected directly to the display out of a computer, with an Ethernet cable going from the server module to one of the RJ-45 port jacks on the KVM (KVMXXX). You would then either connect a local display to the display output of the KVM, or connect to the KVM web interface remotely if it has a network card. You would then select the proper server port from the OSD of the KVM:

If your setup is correct, then we would look at the laptops you are using to test. Are the VGA ports actually active? Does the laptop see that there is an external monitor present? Do you have a desktop or another computer you can test with?
