I've got an AP9630 installed in an SMT2200 running 6.2.1 that is sporadically rebooting a few times a week. When it does so, or it is instructed to reboot, it emails out the 3 listed recipients an Informational warning. I have disabled all Informational warnings for email and set them to syslog instead. I have set only Critical notifications to send an email. However, this notification email still goes out every time. Where can I remove the configuration for code 0x0101 to remove it from sending an email?
Code : 0x0101 Informational - UPS: Restored the local network management interface-to-UPS communication.

Whoa. Yeah, add me to the list. I just ran a self test and got the email notification for it as well. That's another one. I definitely want the failure notification, but don't want regular updates that say "I'm still working correctly." At least I can drop that notification down to myself only and not other personnel, but I'd just as soon be rid of it.
What I meant above regarding 0x0101 is that it does not even appear under Power Events -> Communication, and as such cannot be an edited item. The only way to get to it was to manually change the URL as listed in the PDF that you pointed me to.

Hi Kevin,
It'd be helpful to see the event.txt, config.ini, and data.txt and maybe I can tell you why it is sporadically rebooting or guide you on that. Instructions are here on getting logs (or the .tar file) -> http://www.apc.com/support/index?page=content&country=ITB〈=en&locale=en_US&id=FA156131
To disable any code that is not on the event list, you can read/follow instructions here and use the 0x0101 code where reference -> http://www.apc.com/support/index?page=content&country=ITB〈=en&locale=en_US&id=FA156104

Hi Angela. Note that I'm looking at the 3:22 unscheduled reboot, as well as the 11:40 scheduled reboot. The warnings at 5:32 and 5:42 were successfully logged and not emailed as desired.
Ok, attaching the files is failing in Chrome, Firefox, and IE. Hmm.

Hmm. I use Chrome/Firefox on Windows and I haven't seen a problem with attaching files. Feel free to elaborate on the specific issue and I can have it looked at for attaching files. If you want, send an email with the attachments to upload.Logs_fr.vup7y92eeu@u.box.com which will go to a Schneider Box folder I have set up.

Ok, I had to email the box address. I just can't get anything to attach to the forum interface. After clicking the "Show" to open the Attach Files, I click to select files, navigate to my local file directory and select the file. As son as it is opened, I see a progress bar flash by and disappear, like it's uploading the file, but it doesn't give me any progress. It disappears basically immediately. I'm on Chrome right now and have disabled any extensions to verify nothing is interfering. Same thing is seen under IE as well as Pale Moon (rebranded Firefox).

Thanks for the detailed feedback on the attachment issue. I'll look into that as well.
I did get the .tar file in the box folder - thank you.
After the NMC reboots for any reason, it is normal to see anywhere from 3-5 events reported that are standard to show afterwards. For your UPS device, it would be these:
03/10/2015 11:09:38 Device UPS: The power for switched outlet group 1, Outlet Group 1, is on. 0x0185
03/10/2015 11:09:38 Device UPS: The power for the main outlet group, UPS Outlets, is on. 0x0185
03/10/2015 11:09:38 Device UPS: Restored the local network management interface-to-UPS communication. 0x0101
03/10/2015 11:09:22 System Network service started. IPv6 address FE80::2C0:B7FF:FEB6:D7A4 assigned by link-local autoconfiguration. 0x0007
03/10/2015 11:09:20 System Network service started. System IP is X.X.X.X from manually configured settings. 0x0007
03/10/2015 11:09:14 System Network Interface restarted. 0x0002
Going back to your original question, did what I mentioned about configuring clearing events help you disable this email? You just may have a scenario where not specific to a reboot, NMC to communication won't establish, you fix it, and then it won't tell you that. If you're looking at syslog too, then it sounds like it is not a huge concern.
Now, specific to the sporadic reboots...
I saw these:
03/15/2015 03:21:23 System Network Interface restarted. and 03/10/2015 09:07:23 System Network Interface restarted.
debug.txt and dump.txt help us with these. Your dump.txt is what I have seen in the past relating to an issue we are addressing in future revs relating to SSH and a potential memory leak. Sure enough, I thought this and checked your config.ini and I see you use SSH and not telnet.
For this one, I'd say it appears to be the reboot is freeing up the memory and we hopefully will have that addressed in the next future rev. I don't think it is anything you can address on your own besides usng Telnet which is a silly suggestion for a fix .
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have further questions.

Hello again Angela. Following the linked pdf and manually editing the URL to go directly to code 0x0101 did allow me to edit the notification event and remove the emails from notification and set it to syslog only. I did a reboot and the change appears to have been applied, as I have not yet received an email notification. So that problem appears to be solved...
The notification is not listed under Power Events -> Communication though. The only events listed there are for codes 102 and 148. This looks like a bug in the firmware I take it? Or perhaps it was intentionally left out of the 6.2.1 release for some other reason?
Regarding your latter comments: Yes, I use SSH. I can't fathom anyone using telnet these days.. So please ask the programmers to expedite any SSH related programming. 🙂

Hi Kevin,
It is not a bug, it is just how informational events are handled. 0x0102 code is the event you'll see on the list (UPS: Lost the local network management interface-to-UPS communication.) and 0x0101 clears that condition. This just happens to be an event where the "clearing condition" is more frequently active/true versus the "alarm" condition associated with it. Another example is outlined in the kbase that people often feel similarly with - self test failed/passed. Your self test is typically passing and the passed event is the clearing condition for the self test failed alarm which happens, and then is cleared when you address the problem. People don't want to see the self test passed event every two weeks but then if they disable it, and have a self test failed, they won't know when it passes again after addressing it.
Hope that helps clarify!
