AP9619 VS AP9630

Hi All,

Can someone tell me what the main differences are of the above products ? Other than one is newer and has newer firmware etc ?

I currently have a AP9619 but was disappointed to see it could not use authenticated SMTP ..

To get me round this problem I just run a SMTP Relay ... but I ideally just want to send mail straight out, I dont like the idea that the mail relay could fail when I need it.

The AP9630 will allow me to do this ... but at a cost ..

Is it worth the cost do you think or should I stay as I am ...

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

AP9619 has been discontinued now for several years. Technically AP9631 is its replacement because it offers the environmental monitoring that AP9619 does.

Beyond that, AP9630 contains the following firmware features:

  • Multiple user log in/multiple users of different types i.e. multiple administrators
  • Change SMTP port
  • SSL/TLS or basic SMTP authentication
  • Firewall
  • Log export capability
  • Faster hardware
  • New CLI geared towards scripting versus menu driven
  • Certain UPS device items have been added depending on the model (for instance, detailed SYBT5 info is shown in web now for sy app)
  • 2048 bit SSL certificates
  • IPv6
  • Language pack options for users wanting different languages - also allows notification recipients to have language independently configured
  • Strong passwords/password policies
  • Advanced log debugging for certain issues
  • AP9631 offers two sensor ports, AP9619 only one. AP9631 also offers USB for USB firmware upgrades

I think that's most of the ones I can come up with that I'd highlight. If you're looking for something more specific, give me an area (SMTP, RADIUS, etc) and I can focus more on the differences.
