I just picked up an AP9606 and have installed it in a SU1500. I can access the AP9606 via the SU1500's com port with Hyper-Terminal but not by an IP address I set. The PC and AP9606 are on the same hub, subnet, etc... I can't ping it or find it via an ip scanner. It will not ping other devices via the com interface, though it will ping it's own IP address. The AP9606's Link RX/TX Light is green and flashes with network traffic, the Status Light is solid green. I have uploaded firmware aos3.2.6.b and sumx326a. I have reset everything to defaults and then set the ip address via Hyper-Terminal with the same results. I'm approaching the definition of insanity. Am I missing something or is it a bad card?

Thanks for the response.
Here's the results!
I set the card up with a static IP and a PC up with a staitc IP. I didn't have a crossover cable handy so I plug the two devices into a separate hub. Same results.
I shut down the UPS, pulled the card out and wrote down the MAC.. The strange thing is the MAC displayed in HyperTerminal is different than what is written on the card.... Only the the last four alpha-numeric's on the MAC's are being identical. That can't be right. I think this card must have had a static attack.

Hi:
Honestly these cards don't die often at all, so I would say there might be something else going on; especially since you are getting the proper LED's on the network jack. For troubleshooting purposes, perhaps you can try putting a static IP on it, rebooting it, and then connecting a crossover cable from the card to your laptop. Once your laptop has an (automatic private IP should be fine) you can try pinging the card. This will fully eliminate any potential network configuration issues.
Let us know the results!
Thanks
