Hi, Ive got a few AP7941 PDUs that have the current monitoring capability. Is it possible to read the current per outlet? If its not a current feature is it possible to modify/add this to the firmware?
Another thought, I know these are older models - are there newer versions that have this ability? I doubt I'll be upgrading anytime soon but it would be nice to know if this is an option.
thanks

Hi Eric,
Unfortunately no - you cannot do this with AP79XX series models. It requires special hardware to make this happen. AP79XX series only supports monitoring current at the outlet bank level or total device level. That is in addition to its switching outlet capability.
Our AP84XX series PDUs would be what you'd want to check out. These offer Metering by Outlet. AP86XX also offers metering by outlet in addition to the switching capability if you want to keep that too.
You can take a look at both of those models from this main page -> http://www.apc.com/shop/us/en/categories/power-distribution/rack-power-distribution/_/N-15xoz1j
