Hello,
I upgraded from version 2.7.2 to 3.7.3 at the behest of APC tech support to solve a connection lost and established issue(roughly the issue was just that multiple emails claiming the connection was lost and established). After the firmware upgrade we began receiving "Switched Rack PDU: Overload" messages. I was instructed to try previous firmwares until the issue was resolved. A reboot of the hardware was also requested however we are unable to carry out such an action where business critical appliances are connected.
After loading 2.7.1 connection to the web console was not possible. Firmware 3.7.3 was reloaded in which the system continued the overload messages then promptly went into a cold start. I haven't attempted to log into the web interface again in fear of another cold start. Any information provided will be greatly appreciated!

I will try that out thank you! There was an Er message on the lcd yesterday. The power cycle like you said is not a feasible option however when the system cold started yesterday it was down for several minutes, would it be safe to rule out that fix possibly?

ok here is what I would do to start and see if we get anywhere..
back up your config.ini using those instructions i gave you first. that will back up all of your settings. do a reset to defaults, excluding TCP/IP (so you don't lose your IP) under Administration->General->Reset/Reboot and see what you get.
then you can reapply your config.ini with your settings depending on how we do.
do you see an Er on the LCD display on the front of the PDU too? a power cycle for 5-10 seconds is recommended too in this circumstance but i understand that is not a feasible option.

hi,
can you provide me the event.txt log file from the PDU so we can see what happened? here are some instructions on how to download it if you aren't sure - http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9321/
also, what is the serial number on the PDU? the first few digits will be fine - such as ZA0910. you can get this via the web interface or on the PDU itself.
thanks!
