AP7921 - empty Device Manager

I don't know how to fix following problem:

I have in our company AP7921 which loose all data in Device Manager. It means from command line I can't make any action on outlets or phase because there is not any submenus in Device Manager.

Do you know how can I fix this issue? I try reset to default from System-> Tools menu but it didn't help.

OK, did someone try to upgrade the firmware on this recently? Seems like someone did and it didn't work properly. You have two APC Operating systems loaded where you need an APC operating system and an application file. Should be an easy enough fix though.

Anyway, can you confirm when you FTP to this card, what AOS it says? For example:

220 AP7941 Network Management Card AOS v3.7.4 FTP server ready.

What we need to do is whatever AOS version it is (I suspect 3.5.6), we'll need to load the correct application file that goes with it and then re-start the upgrade.

Instructions on upgrading firmware are here (we'll need to use the NMC1 manual FTP method) -> http://www.apc.com/support/index?page=content&country=US〈=en&id=FA156047 - very important when using FTP, binary transfer mode needs to be specified and used.

Once I confirm what AOS is loaded, I can get you the correct application file since its probably not posted. Then we can proceed with loading the newest AOS 3.7.4 and rpdu application 3.7.4 and we should be good to go.

Can you let me know what you see under Help->About system? Sounds like older firmware so if you don't see that option, check Administration tab->General->About

Let's first find out what firmware we're dealing with here (which is what I am having you check) and then maybe we'll see if it is the incorrect application or if we should try an update.

Lastly, do you know when this issue started? Are you able to FTP to the device to download the event log? I don't need the other files but instructions on downloading are here -> http://www.apc.com/support/index?page=content&country=US〈=en&id=FA156131 - it might not be working for another reason and this will help me find out why.

Thank you for your help. Now it works.

It is very strange that this situation appeared only on one PDU (we have more then 40 AP7921).

I don't think so really - I see it if something goes wrong with an initial transfer via a network method and the network transfer failed or the user did not follow the instructions (i.e. using binary mode). Most of the time though there is a blip in the network transfer method somehow.
