Hello everyone,
I have a PDU APC AP7920 I used in webfarm few years ago, now I want to use it at home but I can not assign an IP ... I tried holding down the reset button for one second before and after for 30 seconds, but nothing happens. It doesn't receive the IP router...
How can I do to make it works in DHCP? the wizard doesn't find me even PDU..
how can I solve this problem?
PS: it is normal that the indicator is green without ethernet cable connected? (see attachment)
thank you very much.
Luca

No problem. Unfortunately, you won't be able to reset the administrator password (assuming apc for both username and password don't work) if you do not have the configuration cable which is 940-0144 - if you don't have a cable you can maybe Google to find the instructions to make a cable (if you are familiar with doing that) in order to log in or we do provide the cable as a spare part for purchase under part number 0J-940-0144A.

Hi Luca,
This unit defaults to DHCP mode by default but requires DHCP option 43 to be required by default. This is a vendor cookie option that must be set up on a DHCP server, which many people aren't aware of and it is required for the PDU to accept a DHCP address. It can be disabled if you log into the PDU.
The wizard and DHCP may not be working because the status LED is solid green already. This is normal when the PDU has TCP/IP settings assigned to it already. You can hold down that gray button (labeled press and hold to invert display) for about 5 seconds and let go when it says "IP" and it will scroll the current IP address for you across the screen. When you connect an ethernet cable, the second LED, the link LED labeled 10/100 will illuminate. The status LED is the one you see on solid green with a checkmark and X next to it and is always on in some manner when the device is powered.
You can't factory reset this model without logging into it somehow. You could consider finding out the IP address and trying a crossover connection to the device using your computer to log into it.
Here is the knowledge base on how to access/configure a device like this and all of the different methods to do it.
