We are controlling the PDU's via the network connection form an AMX Ni-4100 Automation controller through the campus LAN.
We are running into an issue where we need to turn on specific port on the controller eg. ports 1, 4, 7. for no reason we can figure out the PDU will miss tuning on 1 or 2 of the ports.
This will not happen every time but is becoming frustrating for the users when they need to stop and start the system got get the PDU to re-select the correct ports to turn on.
Have you come accross this issue before? Is there a way of improving this process?

Can you clarify how you are connecting the PDU and controlling these outlets? (SSH, telnet, serial console, etc)
And is it always the same outlet? Can you check the event log on the PDU after this happens? (meaning does the PDU think it turned on but it does not physically turn on?) If anyone is local to it also for these outlets, the outlet LED could be checked to see if its on or off.
