You may try to factory reset the NMC using the instructions outlined below. Going this route will format the NMC unit to a default state. It should be called out that if the NMC is really old the need to verify the on board coin cell voltage is paramount!
If the coin cell is less than 2.70 VDC ensure that the NTP service is set up and able to connect to a local / remote NTP Server Address or Pool so it can update the NMC system time.
Failure to do so will result in incorrect time stamps for logging, email notification, and creation of certificates.

FACTORY RESET NMC TO DEFAULT STATE:
If you need to factory reset your device, another option is to format your device. This wipes flash memory and any remaining configurations entirely, including your current TCP/IP settings. This step can be done one of two ways:
Press and hold the NMC's pinhole reset button for 20+ seconds, ensuring the NMC's status LED is pulsing green during this time. When it changes to amber or orange, release the reset button to let the format function complete and for the NMC to complete its reboot process.
Issue theformatcommand via the command line via telnet, SSH, or local console. Issue arebootcommand to complete the process.
