Introduction

The EcoStruxure Augmented Operator Advisor Runtime (AOA Runtime) is one of main components of Augmented Operator Advisor (AOA) beside of Augmented Operator Advisor App (AOA App) and Augmented Operator Advisor Builder (AOA Builder). The AOA Runtime gathers all the information to be displayed in the points of interest and sends it to be displayed by the AOA App. It also manages the database containing the photographs of scenes and equipment contained in the uploaded project.

Typically, the AOA Runtime is installed in the machine which is connected to the same WiFi network of mobile phone or tablet hosts the AOA App. However, at some occasions the AOA App is required to connect to the internet using commercial cellular network (3G/4G) then synchronizing with the AOA Runtime which is installed in Cloud VM or an internet node with public IP. It is strongly suggested to install AOA Runtime in a secured web-server environment which is accessed through HTTPS connections.

This document is intended to provide an exercise of how-to install AOA Runtime in a Cloud VM (Azure). An exercise of how-to setup a HTTPS connection is also provided in the document including demonstration of AOA App setup on Android mobile phone.

Exercise of AOA Runtime installation in an internet node is not covered in this document. However, it is possible as well with similar steps detailed in this document.
