Hello all,
I have a residential customer who has recently purchased 2 apartments that are next to one another.
We have a deployed SE knx system and wiser in each apartment, the customer has re modeled the apartments partition and joined both apartments together to make one very large apartment.
I have been asked to provide a solution to bring the 2 together so they can use one gui / app. What would be the best method for the Wisers? Does the wiser support master / slave config?
Current methods in my mind are either,
Bring both together via IP - which I would prefer
Bring both bus lines together and omit one of the Wisers (as the apartments use very similar ets projects, all device types and locations will have same phy addresses in both apartments)
Your input is appreciated

Hi Daniel,
as spoken today. Proposal is to:
- Link both W4K via LAN.
- keep one W4K as a kind of IP-Router. (maybe do a factory reset and upload the final ETS-Project).
- Group-Addresses needs to be adapted according to the new rebuilted rooms.
- Enrich the Touch-Visu of the main W4K with the new rooms and adapt the ones which get enlarged.
It is a pretty nice example for the use of KNX. Just some minor SW-Changes to realize!
Flexibel reaction on requests of the new owner possible.

I thought this was only available via the cloud linking of 2 Wiser gateways?

Hi Coppo,
yes, you are in principle correct. In case both Wiser for KNX would be seperately available to control parts of the flats.
But it doesnt make sense in this case as both seperate flats will be merged to one big flat.
So there is only the need to keep one as the main controller (control of the new rearranged flat) and the second one acts only as a kind of IP-Router.
Which makes the bridge between the former seperated KNX networks.
